BUILDING A SCHOOL IN BADAGRY

Picture
Imani Bridges and the partners are building a self-sustainable “Transformational Engagement Center”and campus in Badagry, Nigeria.

The project in Badagry includes the construction of a facility which will serves as a school, medical clinic, church, vocational training, agriculture development center, and community center. CRM purchased the land tract in 2014 ($100,000 US) and in March 2017 the building was dedicated when 374 volunteers (all but 18 from Nigeria) came to volunteer.  The joint team provided medical care including eye surgery, vocational training in 10 areas, training for teachers and outreach to children, street evangelism, and much more. The Transformational Engagement Center  is staffed and operated by CRM and MAI, and utilized as a regional training center for out ministry partners and denominations throughout west Africa.

Badagry is an ancient port city, with both a famous and infamous history, and as such is the perfect location of choice for Imani Bridges first project.

Famous because the first European missionaries to Nigeria landed in Badagry and established a mission center which grew and expanded throughout West Africa. It is infamous because it was a shipping center for more than 550,000 African slaves during the European and American slave trades. The area has suffered with horrendous poverty for generations.
